Memorial Park – The Entrance
Memorial Park at The Entrance is a much used and well loved place. It is a landmark local destination for tourism and its revitalisation is seen as a major driver to economic development for The Entrance.
Activities such as pelican feeding is a popular event and the waterfront promenade is a signature element in the project offering an opportunity to experience the estuarine landscape leading from the ocean to Tuggerah Lake.
The new works are intended to bring upgrades to many of the existing spaces and functions of the site to improve visual and recreational amenity and the functional operation of the site.
Phillips Marler have designed a range of spaces including:
- a waterfront promenade
- plaza area which interfaces with retail spaces
- a new playspace and splash pad and
- a shared zone for pedestrian access.
The project will take more than three years to construct in stages with the first stage of the plaza and playspace under construction.
